By Juan C. Ayllon I’m up early this Saturday morning, drinking my coffee, streaming Fink down low as my wife sleeps in, trying to get my creative juices flowing. I’m digging that plaster reproduction of Michelangelo’s David statue’s nose sitting between my VPI Voyager phono stage and our electronic photo display on the media stand. I got it when I was student teaching in 1994, as I recall. Creativity comes forth from solitude, a wise friend once told me, and there's something nice about sitting alone now and again, pondering ones thoughts. A good sound system helps, too! Good speakers, amplification, source--check! In retrospect, sometimes total silence works best, yet really good music rendered well inspires me. It lifts my spirit and nurtures my inner artist. Anyways, I've got a review to write before noon. So, it's a little more coffee, maybe a little breakfast, visit with Belle and get to it. Cheers!
